Bam! It is with immense satisfaction that we now can tell: Scuola Furano is back!
Many years after their latest release, Italy’s premier disco-house team is putting out a new EP called Tribute this next friday on La Valigetta, and it features four new tracks of bouncy funky bubblegum beats, with some good ol’ electro thrown in and the usual arsenal of crazy samples (qualcuno finalmente ha usato il piaaaaacccchhhhh! del Deejay Time! Possibile che fosse ancora lì che aspettava?) spicing up the mix.
The four songs are called Colorado Strings, FlashBack, Pina Colada and The Heaven and Back… and while waiting for them you can take a look at the funny archival footage of the video teaser right here:
And also dance to Scuola Furano’s new mix right here, with the four new tracks and lots more

Our man in London Riva Starr just posted a new mix on his SoundCloud page, where you can stream it and also (apparently for a limited time) download it.
We here at CSN headquarters think that the title (Back to the Bass Mixtape) says pretty much all you need to know about it, but we will paste the description posted by Riva himself, capitals included:
HYPHY SUB HOUSE TECH DEEP BANGING

PS – Don’t forget to check out Riva’s new label Snatch Records, with new releases by David Keno and Donk Boys, and forthcoming big tunes by the likes of Stefano of course, and much more.
Here’s a funny preview of Upside Down by David Keno!
Big news from our northeastern pals Amari!
The posse has a new single out on their label Riotmaker, it’s one song off their latest album Poweri with four versions by italian producers. Big players like NT89 and Cécile, both regulars here on CSN, and in-house remixers like Cerronza (Amari’s bass player Cero plus his mate Dumonza) and 2-step debutante Bunuel (Amari’s singer and guitar player Dariella, you may remember him for this).
Chose your favourite streaming the entire single here:
Hey, and there’s an amazing video too! It’s directed by our friend Francesco Calabrese for Souljacker Film, and previewed on Pronti Al Peggio, a site you should definitely check out.
New mix by Belgium’s VillA, purveyors of the finest balearic sounds around. No need to add much more, except that it rocks in a beautiful early summer kinda way, and that italian listeners will find special delight in Tullio De Piscopo’s 1984 neapolitan downtempo disco-funk smash Stop Bajon. Dig it, and lievete ‘a sotto!

Our best readers might remember Paris boy Benjamin Vial for his Asian Thrash Boy remix we mentioned some days ago. Together with Dominic “Zuul” Mayer from Newport, Wales, he produces some serious techno as Machine Electrique: while waiting for their Projet 001 debut EP on Los Angeles label Circuit Freq Records, here’s a moody but somehow heavy rework of Portishead’s 1994 classic Glory Box:
Thieves Like Us wasn’t only a 1974 Robert Altman movie, but ten years later it also became the title of a soon-to-be-classic New Order song. So it’s no coincidence that a Swedish-American trio who’s in love with electronic pop songs decided to opt for the name of Thieves Like Us. Their new single Forget Me Not, which anticipates new album Again And Again (this time quoting The Cure, perhaps?), has come out on deBonton with a remix made by Italian boy wonder Cécile: a bittersweet synth-pop symphony we’re offering to all of you.
Loooooots of days without posting, we know, but hey: italian version of DJ Mag is coming very very soon, and we both are contributing with lots of stuff, so we’ve been pretty busy with interviews, reviews and that kind of stuff. But we are almost there, so all you italian dance music lovers please check newsagents around mid May, and let us know what you think ok?
Then, we have our monthly Gossip night coming in a few days. It’s the final winter season party, it’s at Velvet Club as usual and the usual gang of DJs will spin, namely The Wooden Theories, Hookers and Computer Says No. Plus a very special guest from Milano, the DJ, promoter and incognito tv celebrity that goes by the name of Country Side Kid! That’s the kid in the picture up there, right.
Third: this is Dama S Salon by DJ Gregory and Sidney Samson featuring Dama S. You need it.
Now this is something new for Computer Says No!
This next friday, we will be deejaying live on air on Radio Black Out, the only station in town (and one of the few in the nation) that is totally DIY, with no ads and no sponsors and no silly playlists.
Our host will be DJ Yashin, the show si called Reset Club and we will be on air from midnight to who knows when. If you are in Torino and area, tune in on FM 105.250; if you are somewhere else in the world, we got some streaming for ya.
We got to know Doc Trashz a while ago, when our friend Gianluca told us about all those youngsters blasting out crazy rave stuff in Sicily, following in Blatta & Inesha’s footsteps. Now the Doc has put his name on a long list of tracks, and also runs a label called Killa Tunes, with releases by El Puerco (underground hit Rudeboy), John Lui, Rickie Snice, Pink A Pad’s and Doc Trashz himself of course.
Latest in line is Bring That Bass, an EP by Toulouse’s Asian Trash Boy coming out April 29. With a title like that, you know you’re not in for some microhouse or ambient stuff, right? Dig the original and remixes by Ikki, Benjamin Vial and the Doc with this teaser right here, and don’t forget to bring that goddamn bass!
But it’s not all. We also have another gift for you, in the form of a Doc Trashz dubstep/kebabstep bootleg of Rihanna’s Rude Boy, which you can download for free right here:
